The Eye and a Question
Frodo_Lives
The Eye of Souron (or should I say "the firey searchlight") was pityful! Sauron is supposed to be THE MOST feared evil being EVER. That never came across on screen. O well.
Now for my question. I was wondering if I was the only person who cried like a baby when seeing ROTK!? If any of you did which parts brought tears to your eyes. I know for me the parts of the movie that made me cry or tear up were.....
When Pippin has to leave b/c he looked into the palantir and him and Merry are saying good-bye in the stables. That part just made me tear up because it was two best friends saying good-bye and they are not sure if they are ever going to see eachother.
Frodo sending Sam home. I think I have explained myelf enough.
When Frodo got stung and Sam thought he was dead.... the line "Dont go Mr. Frodo, don't go where I can't follow." I loved that line in the book and Sean Astin delivered a perfect performance in the movie.
The part where Pip finds Merry on the Pellanor feilds and Pip tells Merry that he will look after him was so GREAT! It seems like Merry was always the one looking after Pippin but now it's Pippin's turn!
Basically the whole Mt. Doom scene! When Sam is remembering the Shire but Frodo says he can't remember or see anything but "The firey searchlight". Elijah Wood's performance was FLAWLESS, his acting was sublime! Then when the Ring is destoyed and they think they are going to die and Frodo says "I'm glad I'm with you Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things." That gets me right in the heart! And also Sam talking about Rosie Cotton.
And finally the part that made me cry the most! The Grey Havens!!!!! Gandalfs line about how not all tears are of evil was so great in the book and Sir Ian McKellen was great! And Frodo saying the Shire hadn't been saved for him just broke my heart! Then the only time Frodo smiles is right before he gets on the boat. It was the type of smile that lets his friends know he will be ok and that he is finally happy.
Last one! Pj USED THE FINAL LINE IN THE BOOK! "Well, I'm back." WOW! And the fact that the credits say The End. It really brings the trilogy to a close.
It was an emotional rollercoaster ride! It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!
