Lord of the Rings Beats the Passion?
Bergil

Although the recently released film, the Passion of the Christ directed by Mel Gibson beat Return of the King's in box office records opening weekend by only a few million dollars. LOTR was a little over an hour longer making it harder to sqeeze in more showings in one day. So in a way because there were more showings of the Passion of the Christ more people could go see it. So it is unfair to say that it beat Lord of the Rings in the box office on opening weekend! I'd say Lord of the Rings is still the reigning king of the box office records!
