P: Pelennor
Elendur

The Battle of the Pelennor started off badly and ended badly. Sure, there were some great scenes in between, but we'll ignore that for now(because this is an A-Z post).

So, the start. Where was the siege?? Call me picky, but I don't think a couple catapults chucking rocks at the walls counts. Not for The Battle of the Pelenor. Not for The Return of the King. INCIRCLE THE CITY! DIG TRENCHES! STARVE THEM! SCARE THEM! CHUCK BIGGER ROCKS! It was all to fast, to rushed. "The great battle of our time." Come on.

The end. The charge of the Rohirrim was great. The death of Theoden was great. The shipes sail up. No banner of the Tree and Stars. And then... No. They couldn't have.

They did. THEY BROUGHT THE SILLY FAKE GLOWY-GREEN ARMY TO THE PELENNOR.

OK, so it wasn't the end of the world(or the trilogy), but it hurt. All the dead Rohirrim... for nothing. They would have won the battle anyway because they had an invinsible army on their side. It really hurt.

PS- To Bergil: The Peter Jackson and Mel Gibson both knew their films ticket sellings would be effected by the their lengths. Of course they would be. Peter Jackson thought he could sell more tickets with a longer movie. It's as simple as that. To say ROTK was the "real" winner in ticket sellings for the first weekend is ...illogical.

PPS- To RaggedyAandy: 3 things about the mithril coat.

1: Legolas could not be to OLD for the mithril coat. Age has nothing to do with it.
2: We don't know much about mithril except that it is strong, light,* and unlike any metal** we know of today. It may be that it can fit people of different sizes.
3: Since all Elves are tall, and the coat was made for an Elven prince, it is logical that the coat would fit an Elven prince.

*I don't know if it's in one of the books, but in his notes Tolkien said that Mithril in its natural state is actually very heavy and bendable. The Dwarves had a secret method of making it as it is in Frodo's coat.

**It is of course similar in some ways to silver.

PPPS: One thing I've noticed when reading the books after watching the movies is that I can imagine the actors doing things that their characters do in the books but not in the movies.
