Erase the Hate
Jevic of Highgate

Hey I was the same way. I had been into the Hobbit ever since I could remember. My dad was, and is, a huge Tolkien fan. (Though I think that I have surpassed him, finally. Now I'm the one who gets to explain things to him!)
My dad had been telling me stories from Tolkien from as far back as I can remember. And I loved the Warner Bros animated versions of the Hobbit and the Return of the King. Though I never was a reader.
I read the Hobbit in the 7th grade. And I read the Fellowship off and on for a long time. I remember I was at the Council of Elrond in the book on the night I went to see the Fellowship of the Ring at the movies. As soon as I came home I started reading like crazy and finished it within two weeks. Like I said that was good for me cause I was, and still kinda am, a slow reader. I finished the entire trilogy before the Two Towers, and the Silmarillion before the Return of the King. And I also have to say that the movies did help me alot in my reading. I had a face to put with Aragorn and Arwyn. I was able to replay the battle of Gandalf and the Balroug and able to add the new lines and make it ten times more dramatic in my head. So the movies really did help me alot. And like I've said before I have been a total Tolkien nutcase ever since. Hehe though I still say the The Silmarillion was the book that drove me under. I'm still studying it.
Jevic
