March 22, 2004 Re: Frodo Has No Credit It's true that in the book Frodo doesn't actually throw the Ring in the fire. But he does get credit in the book. He is hailed afterward as the person who saves middle earth in the book. There is a huge celebration for the Ringbeaer (which would be Frodo) after the destruction of the Ring. And as Danny said in his other posts, Frodo was the one who took it upon himself to carry the Ring from the Shire to Rivendell then from Rivendell to Mt. Doom. He knew he had to try and destroy the Ring or die trying. He tried even though he pretty much knew he wouldn't make it out alive. And he didn't destroy the Ring to get fame and renouned. He did it to save his home, his beloved Shire. And that's was makes a true hero.
