R: Race Across the Gorgoroth

This really should have gone under Q(uest of Mount Doom), but I didn't get around to it then.

"Ten thousand orcs lie between Frodo and Mount Doom." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! That's ALL?? There should have been an army bigger than the attack on Minas Tirith. FAR bigger than Saruman's little squad.

And then... Where'd they go? It took less then 15 seconds of screen time for the force to move to the Black Gate. It took about the same for Frodo and Sam to reach Mount Doom. Plus, they cut out the scenes where Frodo realizes he cannot succeed in throwing the Ring in, but pushes on anyway.

Pretty sad. Making the whole of the Gorgoroth seem like 20 yards, and passing up another chance to show the Ring's effect(and the reason Frodo really IS a hero).

PS-- To Lem: Ring's destruction was covered under Cracks of Doom, Ringwraith's under Black Breath, and I wouldn't dream of criticizing Rivendell(though I didn't like some of the scenes there-- see H: Halfelven.
