May 22, 2002 The Whole Arwen Thing I had no objections to seeing Arwen in the first or even the second movies. Its how they fit her in that bothers me. Having a gung ho she-elf down plays Eowyns heroic deeds, and almost makes her look not as important. Arwen could have been put in during the Rivendell visit,(like she is in the book),and could have come back to her making Aragorn his flag, and that along with seeing her and Aragorn together at Rivendell would have been enough of a lead in for her. Another thing, there is a good reason WHY it was Glorfindell and not some one else that went looking for the company. Glorfindell was one of the few remaining elves that was strong enough to withstand the black riders. Arwen (in the book) would have been chop liver had she tried to go against the black riders on her own.
