Re: New Works

Jevic,

I didn't realize that you meant published fiction, and no, I've never seen any. I'm not so sure if its a good idea to have that out there because whoever writes it might not do it correctly (i.e., according to Tolkien)? So then his/her book would be out there on the market and less informed people might believe that it is somehow in direct accordance with Tolkien's writings. You see what I mean? Just like some people think that Peter Jackson's movies display what really happened. Bottom line, would the author's writing be what Tolkien would write? So we should probably leave well enough alone and accept the sad facts, that Tolkien can never write more and we will never see what else was in his broad imagination.

P.S. It might not be too bad of an idea to have some fan fiction on the market. I don't know. Like I said, I'm just afraid that people would be so eager for more Tolkien that they would forget that Fan Fiction isn't pure Tolkien.

Namarie, Sirindu
