Short Thought

Well, I am very much enjoying the intellectual and interesting debate about 'truth', 'religion' and the like going on right now! I won't attempt to put forth my own opinion at the risk of sounding inferior or uninformed, but will remain as an engaged observer.

However, I will say a quick response to Elendur about the two Glorfindel's - if you already know this, then it can be for the benefit of others! Glorfindel of Gondolin died after escaping the the fall of the city, in single and brave combat with a Balrog (whose wings are obviously like a chickens', because it did fall over the side of a cliff and did not save itself). The second Glorfindel was a lord of Rivendell, apparently answering only to Elrond in rank. He helped Frodo escape the Nazgul in the Fellowship of the Ring. Probably named after the legendary Glorfindel of Gondolin, the name means 'golden-haired'.
