Answering To...
Annatar
Kat you said we all have to answer to someone. Not neccesarily so, a person can if such is his/her disposition do good, or bad, without acknowledging either. Amoral people. They dont acknowledge the need for morals, they aint even immoral. A person should do good with even knowing it. It should be as natural as breathing, never conciously done. Any evil done should be acknowledged, as a Christian this is what I believe. The path to the Father is through the Son. An Atheist can follow Christ, even if he doesnt know it. An atheist who lives a life that mirrors what Jesus wants us to do, is following Christ and as such will walk into Heaven no prob. Remember the Sheep and the Goats, the Goats got hell because they didnt acknowledge the evil they did, the Sheep got heaven because they did good without even knowing it, as it was natural to them. Do good, so as your left hand doesnt even know whats happening (if you get my meaning).
As for the contradiction bit. Some would argue that any religion not of say the Christian God is evil and all works of such is evil. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Evil stands soooo and an evil religion must only have evil deeds. Yet that evil religion had an adherent showing the highest virtue.
Thats what I'm getting at.
Personally I believe that there are no purely evil/good religions. When Humans get involved, nothing is pure. ALL Christian churches have a human aspect and as such can and are influenced by evil. Real Anti-christ followers, cannot stop the whisperings of God in the background leading them back to Good, and as such no one, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and others are ever purely evil. Humans are purely nothing, cept for purely human.
That being so, can even the Devil be pure evil? A fallen Angel... Can anything that has been created by God, touched by God's hand ever be purely evil? or is redemption open to all? Can the tiny pinprick of light in even the darkest of souls, the Devils, bring him back to the light?
Personnally I believe Satan and the Devil to be two very different entities.
Satan = Good, Devil = Evil.
Satan is just a "prosecuter", some one who, like in court points out our failures. He hasnt a nice job and so isnt liked by humans, who then blended him and the devil into one being. Satans job is not who he is. Just a good faithful Angel doing a no so nice job. The Devil however is evil. A fallen Archangel, some say he was second in heaven only to God. Pride was his downfall. I never subscribe to the idea he wanted to be God or A God. He saw God. Pride is one thing, blind stupidity is another. Seeing God would easily tell him which way a fight would go. An arguement about Humans and them being allowed into heaven could have kicked the fight off however. Anyone see The Prophecy films? Have to say I agree with the premise, except swap Gabriel with the Devil.
Monkeys in Heaven???!!!
Name of the Devil? Dont think Lucifer is his name (a human kings name more than likely)
Cant remember the correct spelling... Sammail (phon)??
Anyways better head off and write what happens in Valinor once Ingwe puts the last elvish ring on.
See you all later :) Ash Nazg...
