Serious Stuff...
Annatar

Yeah Pip, I know what you mean about all the serious posts I do at times. Kind of just got caught up writing them. At the end I see what I write and shake my head, but I did take the time to write them so I couldnt hit delete.

Ah the Poll who should have carried the Ring?!! Well I've always felt Aulendil (sp?) would have made a great Bearer. He would not have been effected in the least by the Ring. Apart from him, I kind of felt Gandalf should have carried it, not because he might have been better but because he was more than willing to let a poor rathobbit bear the weight and danger. Surely the "wisest" Maia would be able to withstand the wiles of the Ring!!! But then if he was the wisest Maia, I'd hate to see the most foolish. I have preached before that Gandalf was a fool. He himself acknowledged such, that the quest of Mt Doom was a fools hope. Indeed it wasn't any plan of his that "saved the day", it was a misfortunate slip by the creature Gollum. Bad luck not great planning on Gandalfs part defeated Sauron. Sauron never said he was the wisest but at least he was correct about the Ring and that no one could destroy it willingly. His plans were sound. They just didnt allow for bad luck.
I can hear the Pro-Gandalf loddy raging from here. The only reason Sauron is seen as evil is because he lost. The victors write the histories. No mention of Tark soldiers pilliaging and raping their way through Harad etc in the 3rd age before the Master fully returned to help the oppressed.

I can see Ingwe...
He cannot sleep. The glint of a red stone in a band of gold fills his waking and sleeping mind. He desires it, the cold metal on his finger. A whispering voice seems to speak from the band, a promise of respect, of power, of glory...
Feanor... was he right? Are we captives in gilded cage? The Valar the prison guards...
Once we were friends, once we were seen as equals in being. Now they lord over us, small Gods in a small land. They oppress us, stop us from becoming as they in power. The ring, the ring is the key. He said he would help. Yes, I know who HE is. The Abhorred. A deceiver, but one of neccessity. Early on HE saw what the Valar were, and would eventually become. Tyrants.
Claim the ring. Take it. Free yourself and your people from bondage.

:)
See you all later :) Ash Nazg...

...Death to light, to law, to love, cursed be moon and stars above...
