Fourth Age and Beyond
-
Picking up on the recent speculations on what happened to Hobbits etc after the 4rth Age, I think that I remember reading somewhere that the Halfling race eventually faded away, or that they became stealthy and secretive like Danny noted.
As for viewing Tolkien's work as a history for England, I was under the impression that that was his original intention - though personally I like to think of Middle-earth and all inside of it as seperate 'realm', removed from our own world.
Like many that post here, I am also looking forward to TCON - the first book has always been my favourite one though. As a personal observation, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe also has numerous similarties to the Christian Bible, much more than Tolkien's work. That's just a thought - in reference to previous debate about religious writing in Tolkien's work etc.
Well, I don't really have much more to say at the moment - except to finish by saying welcome! to Nienna. It's always good to read other's own ideas and opinions. A question though, out of interest - why is she your favourite Vala?
regards to all,
Ilmarë
