The Last Ring-bearer

Hello to all people of the forum. I hope you had a wonderful holiday break.

I have a question for everyone, it is known that Sam was the last ring-bearer, and after his wife, Rosie, died in 1421 (?) of the Fourth Age he took the last ship from the Grey Havens and sailed over seas to reunite with his master, Frodo.

I am assuming, that Hobbits, like men and slain elves go to the halls of Mandos. Why do you think Sam chose to live with the immortals rather than go to the halls of Mandos with his wife and children?

Am I missing something? If you had the choice between immortality and death, which would you chose?
