Re: Danny and Nienna
Annatar
Danny reading your post my fingers were twitching to reply from a different point of view. But then I read the second paragraph and had to agree. Starting a conversation about pros n cos, who's right wrong etc would get us nowhere. One thing I will say, the person who said that US troop was way way away from Baghdad was just trying to stop fear spreading amongst his troops so they would fight better etc etc. Since when is lying bad in war? Some people in the US military said there was a massive army poised to invade Saudi Arabia during the first war with El Beardo. It got them what they wanted.
Machiavellian.
But thats politics.
I'm not going to harp on about who's right and wrong, but what I will say is (and I wouldnt be alone) to my eyes alot of people in the US trust their politicians. Never ever trust ANY politician. Clinton, Bush, Saddam, Numptyhead Ahern (AN TAOISEACH), they are all politicians and so cannot be trusted. To be watched like a hawk, because they will steal the teeth out of your head and charge you for it, while smiling and kissing babies.
Thank God things are starting to simmer down. It really annoyed me when friends began throwing accusations at each other. No side was whiter than white in their reasons for or against the conflict. US angry at the failure of support from France et al. "We saved you from the NAZIS..." now stabbed in the back. No one yet mentioned how the US stabbed France and Britain in the back over Suez, when they tried to keep the canal free. They went along with what the USSR wanted, instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with her allies, holding out on a loan to the UK till she was nearly bankrupt.
France and Germany too, they had their own finances in mind when opposing the war in Iraq.
Power, power, power. The root of all war. Wanting it or fear of it.
There are no politicians worth following blindly. Only those who don't want power are worth following. Power corrupts, ultimate power corrupts ultimately.
One sees why Morgoth liked to use his power.
Anyways back to lies etc
Who ever wins writes the histories. Good guys will always be the winners, because they say they are. Nothing they do is ever wrong. Opposing side is evil.
See I DID give Huan as a prezzie!
Lying Elf scum!
;)
Anyways didn't mean to go on. Danny I kept things even. I'm against everyone :)
Nienna, mortals do not stay in Mandos. They travel on to somewhere else, even Manwe doesnt know. As for Sam, Frodo etc living forever, where does it say that? No, in Valinor mortals die all the quicker. Like a moth to a bright flame. The land does not confer immortality. The people, not the land makes the land deathless. That was the truth I hid from the Numenoreans.
Hook.
Line.
Sinker...
In some ways it was all too easy.
Anyways mho chara, see you later :) Ash Nazg...
