Re: Everett
Annatar

About the poll, seems to me none of the wealthy, powerful or "wise" wanted to carry the ring and go into Mordor. Namely because they were scared, and so they raised up a poor insignificant Hobbit to do their dirty work.
Apart from the very wise and truely honourable path of returning stolen/lost property to the owner, who would I choose to destroy the Ring?
Firstly, create a sealed steel box into which we put the ring. It can be a tiny box but one that stops the ring being used. If possible a dampening spell to be placed on box to reduce its effects. As to whom should carry it. The Fellowship should carry it. ALL nine taking turns, daily or weekly based. Anyone who looks like they are even showing even the slightest Boro-effect, should be executed. By impalling on blunt wooden posts. Like we say in Mordor, Measure twice cut once, no erm, don't send an Orc to do a Nazguls job, Oooh if a jobs worth doing it worth doing right, thats it (Monty Python - "Nail some sense into em!!!", 'course, he was talking of crucifixion. Not a bad idea for some Elves I know, but I digress).
As for the Fellowship, Frodo is a liability, having carried the ring for too long already, getting stabbed etc. He is suspect. Basically all the Hobbits should return home.
THE FELLOWSHIP (The ones who should have been there ok so there is 10. Silly idea limiting the number to match the Nazgul)
1: Gandalf
2: Elrond
3: Aragorn
4: Legolas
5: Gimli
6: Glorfindel
7: Halbarad
8: Elladan and Elrohir
9: Khamul
Boromir wouldn't make the cut because of his actions at the council. Gimli is there to give the Fellowship the appearance of having wide and diverse support.

Oh that reminds me. In the movies, what happened to Aragorns Crown for the North, the Elendilmir? A pity it was over looked, it a was subtle but powerful image.
I suppose thats the way with the movies. The "whahey's" outweigh the "argghh's"
Still would have loved to see the Witchking ride under the archway of the Great gate to meet Gandalf. Methinks Mista Jackson missed a great cinema moment there.

Oh Everett, that link kinda half worked for me, got the page but not the flash.

Anyways see you all later my friends :) Ash Nazg...
