Changes in RotK
Thorongil

Reply to Lilly, The change that angered me most was Faramir leading all of his knights to a useless and bloody death. or The dead army coming to the Pellenor and making the sacrifices of the Rohirrim pointless. or Theoden doubting Gandalf again and asking why he should help Gondor. or The orcs entering Minis Tirith. or PJ showing us the Witch King in the trailor, then having Gandalf talk about him, and then sending CG trolls through the gate instead. or Aragorn charging the orcs outside the Morannon and leading HIS men away from cover so they would get killed EVEN FASTER!!!!! or Gandalf doubting that Frodo was still alive, and telling them that their plan to distract Sauron wouldn't work. or Shadowfax kicking Denethor onto the pyre. or Aragorn not wanting to be king till he learns Arwen's fate is tied with the ring,(hmm, so is Sauron's fate, maybe Annatar can make us another conspiracy theory!!!) or The stupid elves wasting precious screentime. OR The lidlessEyeball ontop of the Barad-Dur.

My final answer is somewhere in the middle. Aragorn charging the orcs outside of the Morannon and leading his men away from the hills, out of formation, and never firing arrows. That is the worst change to be because it is one of the best scenes/images in the book.
"Upon the one hill he stood with Gandalf, and there fair and desperate was raised the banner of the Tree and Stars. Upon the other hill hard by stood the banners of Rohan and Dol Amroth,White horse and Silver Swan. And about each hill a ring was made facing all ways, bristling with spear and sword."

The Fellowship of the Ring movie made many changes too, but the fighting was like I had imagined it, and the characters didn't have their character changed, so I loved it.

Viggo Mortenson was a great Strider, but a so-so leader.

The Tombs of the Stewards are on the Sixth level. So burning Denethor also ran through the gate and up the road, before his last dash off of the Seventh level?!?
