For Fro...wait a Minute!
Lilly

First off: a warning. I'm going to be talking about scenes that are supposedly (probably) going to be in the ROTK EE DVD.

Second: I'm going to be complaining about them. That's right: before I've even seen them. Before anyone's seen them. That's right.

The mouth of Sauron is going back into the movie. I for one am thrilled. But I'm kind of confused about something. In the book, Mouth produces Frodo's elvish cloak, sam's sword, and Bilbo's Mithril rings. In the movie, from what I've heard and seen, the only item is going to be the mithril.

This is produced before the rest of the fellowship at the Black Gate, and everyone is sad and thinks Frodo is dead. This makes Aragorn's statement "For Frodo" a LOT more emotional...not for Frodo but for his memory.

Then the ring is destroyed and everyone is happy, cheering "Frodo! Frodo!"

Whoa...rewind. They're calling Frodo's name? Sure, we know he's alive and well (sort of), but they have seen evidence that only Frodo is dead. For all they know Sam escaped. So why do they immediately assume Frodo is alive after all, and not that Sam simply never died, and took the ring and destroyed it alone?

This confuses me. And I guess it will until I see it for myself this December.

ALSO: they say there's going to be a scene in which Gimli and Legolas have a drinking contest. I believe this one because I've seen some of it myself. And i'm not sure i liked what i saw. Legolas seemed to be regarding the brew uneasily, as if he didn't know what to think of it. Ummm...I hope that's just my memory being dumb. Because...elves aren't foreign to drink. In fact, as we see in The Hobbit, mirkwood elves are not opposed to drinking, getting drunk, and falling asleep on duty, when a celebration is at hand.

anyhow, i was just running out of things to complain about. Why not complain about the future things that may or may not be? haha.

yours.

Lilly
