Re: the Last Ship
Lilly

It irks me every time I watch the movie and hear Elrond call that the last ship. It's NOT the last ship. It's NOT EVEN CLOSE to the last ship, as far as I know.

It's the RINGBEARER'S ship. Now that the power of the rings has gone, their jobs are finished. They've no reason to stay, so they go. Frodo left because he was a ringbearer and his time in Middle Earth was done. Sam eventually left for the undying lands himself.

Which means it WASN'T THE LAST SHIP. The rest of the Lothlorien Elves (as well as Celeborn, who stayed with them), the rest of the Rivendell elves, the Mirkwood Elves, any wandering Wood Elf, had yet to leave. ALL THE ELVES eventually leave. If that was the last ship, then I guess they were just leaving Celeborn, Legolas, everybody behind?

Maybe they meant "The Last Ship for US" but still it makes no sense to me.

Or maybe I'M the one who's wrong. Anybody care to explain this to me?

yours.

Lilly
