May 25, 2002 Two Towers Title Not Insensitive First of all, I just want to say that I am very deeply sorry to all those who lost family and friends on Sept. 11. I am not insesitive, but I am irritated. This stupid complaint about the Two Towers title being insesitive is a joke. I mean, I think that the tradegy of Sept 11 is indeed a very unforgetable thing, but I think that attacking a movie which obviously has nothing to do with Sept 11, considering it was written far before the time of the event, and considering it takes place in another world, and considering, the story doesn't even has two towers in it. There's only one, Orthanc. Barad-dur is hardly ever referred to, and their not even side by side. Tolkien wrote the title the Two Towers to symbolize the two parts that Book 3 and Book 4 are split into. It refers to time shifting of the story. So, please, if there are any people reading this who agree with the people who are complaining about the Two Towers title, grab a brain, and don't try to change something that is in the hearts of fans around the world. I personally would be very, very upset, even mad and angry if the Two Towers title is changed. If you don't like the title of the movie, Dont See It! I personally agree with the people who wrote the defending petition. If you don't want to hear the title, The Two Towers, than would you ever want to hear September again, or Eleventh again. Or "World" or "Trade" or "Center". What about "Terrorist" or "Plane" or "Twin" or anyother of the many words that could be traced to September 11. If you are complaining about the Two Towers title, than next, you're gonna want to have the date "September 11" removed from our calendar. It's the same thing!
