Old Fool
Annatar
We all have our off days. I'm not an old man, but I still get knacked at times.
I had to look this up, I knew it was Elf something but what exactly...
"Gandalf" translates as "Elf-of-the-wand(or cane/staff)" (en.wikipedia.org). So my thinking is while he looks like an old man, there is very little else to say that he is human (which we all know he isn't), to call him elf hints towards his use of magic and a lithness of limb that does not correspond with the aged frame. Ignoring the magic, there is no old men that could hope to fight, ride etc as Gandalf does. If I could do the half of what he did, I'd consider myself fit and healthy.
So Gandalf is frail?! No. Either he has a bad day, as do us all, or hes whining for sympathy.
(stir stir ;) )
Anyone see the picture by Rodger Garland I think, of Sauron at Moriondë? Classic...
I prefer Tad Nasmith myself for buildings, Howe/Lee for depth of feeling.
Nasmith would have done a better job of Minas Tirith in the movies. Minas Ithil was great, I kind of missed the revolving turret at the top of the tower, searching....
Any other "Friends of Mordor" out there? Or is it just elf lackies?
anyways, better head off, I got to get ready for tonite ~ oh what are we gonna do tonight? ~ Same thing we do everynight, TRY TO TAKE OVER MIDDLE-EARTH! :) Ash Nazg...
(Not by kind permission of Pinky & the Brain)
Middle-Earth edition: Nazgul and The Darklord. It was a success until they made it Nazgul, Gandalf(Elmyra ) and The Darklord. It was never quite the same after that...
*Sigh*
