Re: Forum President
Everett
Interesting idea, Elendur. I like it. Maybe it should be the next poll question. I'm also glad that you consider me a strong enough candidate to make it through to the electionin fairly good shape, based largely on my debating prowess. However, I'm also somewhat concerned. You offer no reason to vote for me beyond my incredible ability to BS. Also, I have a few questions regarding the process itself.
What are the names of the parties invovled, and which candaidate represents which party?
Is the election determined by the popular vote, or is there an electoral college?
Do the Presidential candidates select their Vice-President, or does the candidate who finishes in second place get the job?
How long are the terms, and are there term limits?
Are the issues strictly related to the Forum, or do they spill over into Middle Earth issues (e.g. "States'" rights vs. "Federal" power, sword control, land management, public works projects, etc.)?
Do delegates get to wear funny hats at the nominating conventions?
Pending answers to these questions, particularly the first one and the last two, I would be honored to announce my candidacy for President of the Tolkien-Movies.com Forum and to lay out my positions on what I think are the important issues of this most pivotal election in the history of the Forum.
