Extended RotK

I'm sorry if this subject has already been extensively covered while I've been away rom this site (and I'm sure it has) but does anyone know what we can expect from the extended bersion of RotK and when it will be released?

Right now I'm pretty certain that Saruman will have his Orthanc scene at the start and that we still won't get the scouring of the Shire (sigh!) but what else can I look forward to? I'd love to see Aragorn looking into the palantir or see Elladan and Elrohir but I don't think either is really possible following Peter Jackson's revisions to the story. What about Denethor looking into his stone and being tormented by Sauron? That would be worth seeing.
