Games and Re:nienna

I like the Sodom and Gomorrah analogy, Ar-Pharazon (like we really need another parallel between LOTR and the Bible, ha). Yeah, I meant manipulate, not actually control. Error on my part. If Sauron could control them, he probably would have kept them around to be his personal army to conquer Middle Earth.
Games: Battle for Middle Earth is coming out sometime soon, and I think it possibly goes as far back as the Last Alliance. One no one has mentioned yet is LOTR: The Third Age. This game is a console RPG based on the events of the War of the Ring and other related events. The only problem for me is the characters are different than the main characters we're all familiar with. There are times when you team up with, say, Legolas, but you don't actually play him. The most interesting thing is supposedly you unlock bad guys when you beat a level, so you could eventually play Moria as the Balrog. Definitely intrigued by that. I think it's a Christmas game too.
Nienna: While I can't really comment on the exiled elves thing because I once again am without books, I can say something about the ring bearers thing. Personally, I think Frodo, Bilbo, and Sam were allowed to live longer than usual in Valinor.
The Numenoreans, on the other hand, were not allowed to go to the West because their ancestor, Elros, Elrond's brother, chose to be human and all of his descendants were denied that choice. Of course, not all humans were unable to go to Valinor, but they had to do something special like communicate with and act on behalf of Ulmo, like the "real" Tuor, who I think was actually granted the fate of an elf.
