FOTR and FOTR.
For starters, what can match the prologue for impact, Sauron smiting left and right?!? I still wish we could have seen Gil-Galad getting fried. I swear I saw a picture somewhere of Sauron holding Gil-Galad by the throat off the ground at arms length. Just imagine, Gil-galad half choking, trying to break Saurons grip. Fire twisting, winding its way down the length of the Dark Lords arm to engulf him. Toasty!

The entire film was the best of the three. (unless the extended edition of ROTK surpasses it). FOTR developed the characters more than the other two combined, yet still managed to tell the story. The other 2 movies relegated character development.

Ah I might have to break out the Oils and paint the aforementioned image.

Just wondering on a separate note altogether, anyone here play a boardgame game called Ogre/GEV? And if they did, did they ever check out the story that was built up around it. Steve Jackson games if memory serves, a classic. One wonders if time will make such a premise prophetic. Pan-Eur Abu!!
