Friendship is definitely a theme that is to be found EVERYWHERE throughout the LOTR, and the one I hold most dear. Most of my favorite books are many-charactered, with lots of ties between all the different characters.

Also there's a theme of, though there are powers of darkness at work to harm, there are also powers of good that at work to help, even if they're harder to find. But that's sort of Good vs. Evil, which has been mentioned.

Also, Eonwe, sorry to jump down your throat about the whole 'wrong' thing. I have a friend who states all his opinions as fact, and I'm sort of worn thin, and I sort of jump to conclusions. So, my bad.
