December 20, 2004 my two cents As I watched ROTK EE it seemed to me that Aragorn was unwrapping the Palantir in Minas Tirith, suggesting that it was the one from Orthanc. I could have seen it wrong, but that's how it looked to me. By the way, a fellowship of two humans, three or four elves, and two dwarves just spells trouble! Faramir probably wouldn't have minded following Aragorn, but the trouble I'm seeing is in the elves and the dwarves. Gimli and Legolas went at it enough in the begining, but can you imagine TWO dwarves starting fights with three elves. Perhaps i'm wrong, okay I probably am, but I don't care how high born the elves are, two dwarves and a couple of elves means trouble! Both races can be a bit hot headed at times. And since i'm here I'll say that my favorite scene in ROTK EE was the drinking game. I laughed very very hard when I saw that. And I admit I did laugh, quite hard when Aragorn whacked the head off of the Mouth of Sauron. I know it was uncharacteristic, but just watching him ride up and cut off his head like that made me laugh. I wonder though, why the mouth of Sauron just sat there and watched him ride up, draw his sword and chop his head off? Personally if I saw this guy riding up to me drawing his sword I'd be backing off or drawing my sword. Before I close I wish to ask a question, Lets assume Sauron regained the ring and all failed. Once Sauron conquered the world, what would he do? I've often wondered that. I mean, he would destroy everything utterly and completely. There would be no humans left to rise up against him and start a rebellion. Perhaps it would have been the end of Middle Earth. How was middle earth destroyed anyway? I've always wanted to know. Ok, I've been rambling far to long so I'll shut up now! -Faerlas |
