Hello Everyone
Magic Fire

To All:

A very happy holiday and New Year! I haven't written for quite a while and stopped in to see what everyone was saying about the EE. Brett C, once again you tell it like it is!

This is the one EE that I actually feel included material that I would rather not have seen, at least done the way it was. I did not like the Palantir scene with Aragorn, as once again, for "tension" you had to see Aragorn be weak by dropping it. The way I would have done that scene was to have the eye in the globe just get bigger and bigger and flame out with anger indicating a hasty strike was coming, not included all that with Arwen dieing and the Evenstar breaking. As much as it differed with the book, I could have stood the Gandalf-Witchking encounter if Gandalf's staff had not been broken. I agree with everyone also about Aragorn killing the Mouth of Sauron...definitely not in character!

Loved Saruman's scene...it should never have been taken out.

There were other scenes that I wish were longer that were great.

I think without a doubt that the best EE that really improved on what was seen in the theatres was The Two Towers. I loved all the extended material in the Fellowship but it stould well on its own without it.
