accents

I live in the suburbs of Washington, DC, have lived here all my (short) life, and find it hard to distinguish the oddities of my accent. the vowel sounds in words like can't or ant are very ah or anh..can't think of an example aside from the accent itself. wish i could be less cryptic, haha.

oh, and for frodo_lives: i read lord of the rings, the hobbit then the silmarillion. i haven't read tolkien's other works, however.
