Legend
Annatar

Opalys The Crow, Legend is a simple book about one old man, hehehe. Great Fantasy writing basically.
Heres the outline, Druss a 60 year old man in the mountains of the Drenai, living out the final years of his life. A life filled with war and fighting. A man who has never been beaten. To the North, in the desert wastes the Nadir. A multitude of warring tribes, who for thousands of years fought outsiders and themselves now have Ulric, Lord of the Wolfhead tribe and unifier of the Nadir Nation. The Nadir turn their attention to their neighbours who in past times had subjugated and murdered their people. One by one these nations fall to the onslaught of hundreds of thousands.
The Drenai are next.
In appeasement the Drenai cut their troop numbers, but to no avail. War comes. The enemy must be held, delayed until reinforcements arrive. Only through a single mountain pass can they invade, this pass is guarded by the largest fortress ever made...
The largest army in history attacking the largest fortress in history. A fortress guarded by a handful of soldiers and farmers.
It is to here that Druss is called to fight one last time.
Druss the Legend, DRUSS THE LEGEND, DRUSS THE....
