Lacking Lothlorien
Janelle

I have found that this subject hasn't appeared often among the discussions of my fellow Tolkien lovers, but I feel it needs to be brought up. Something that bothered me about the movie, though it took me awhile to realise what was missing in the movie, was the lack of Lothlorien. They cut out the whole deal with blind-folding Gimli as well as when Gimli asks for a lock of Galadriel's hair when they leave, showing a sudden respect for the Elvish people. This means that Gimli's constant respect for the Lady Galadriel will either go without a reason in the movies to come, or be thrown out entirely. There were a lot of important goings on in Lothlorien, you would have thought that they would high-light it a bit more in the movies.
