Darkness
Annatar
Opalys, As john Mellencamp once wrote/sang "..am I in the darkness or is the darkness in me..." I think everyone growing up goes through it, I know I did. It takes till you are 30 at least to straighten out most of the kinks. In a way its good, you can get to understand what everyone is capable of.
"When you stare into the abyss long enough, the abyss starts to stare into you."
Nietzsche
All you can hope for is, that it doesnt stare back for long.
Its good to know the enemy though.
You hear people say "I'd never do that!" Everyone is capable of anything, all it takes is for the right(or wrong as the case may be) buttons to be pressed, and bang, there goes the neighbourhood.
Thats why I like David Gemmell books(Oh God there he goes again) all the Hero's in his books are flawed to a lesser or greater degree. It makes them a little more human. Thats why I see a little of me in the character Waylander... family and loved ones are everything to me. Anyone causing harm to them... well lets just say the devil would cry with the horror I'd inflict. But I pray to God never to be tested.
I know I'd fail.
"A good man knows his limitations" (wise man Eastwood)
Sorry 'bout all that, Im begining to ramble in my old age ;)
See you later :) Ash Nazg...
