Eire,The Hound and music

Opalys, the Statue is of Cuchulain, dying, facing his enemies as he did all his life on his feet. Basically he tied himself to a standing stone, sword raised. When the man responsible for his death went to claim his head, Cuchulain arm fell and cut his hand off. Only when a Raven landed on the stone did his enemies close in again. Even dead they were scared of him. Cu Chulain- The hound of Cullen (Chulain) AKA The Hound, The Hound of Ulster...
So called because when he was just a child called Setanta, he was attacked by the guard dog of a metalsmith called Cullen... He killed the fierce dog with his Hurling ball. Long story short, Setanta said he would stand guard for the smith until a replacement dog could be found and trained, and so he was called Cullens Hound, CuChulain.
Loads of people still think Ulster = Northern Ireland,it isnt. At present 9 counties make up Ulster, only 6 of these make up Northern Ireland, the other 3 are in the Republic.
Sorry, just had to make a point.
The standard of living in the Republic is pretty high. The cost of living is pretty much through the roof. Health service could be alot better (management, not the nursing staff get the funding for some reason). But all in all supposedly its the most desireable place to live in the world. High growth rate, we need 40,000 extra people in immergration every year to keep up growth. High income tax, low corporation tax, freeish 3rd level education (depends on income).All in all it is a great place to live, work etc. There are downsides and alot of stupidly annoying stuff... but thats the way of things everywhere.

Annatars music taste - Guns n Roses, Springsteen, Mellencamp, Rolling Stones, Green Day... Pop music aargghh most are major caca. Disposable music that will be forgotten a year hence.
