Imperialism
Annatar

Lem, I read/heard that about the lack of US backing for the Suez expedition. To stop a possible return of the British Empire. I was just putting the whole event in "today speak". Imperialistic intentions or "spreading freedom", Potayto/Potato. Rename something to sell it to the masses. A person is smart, people are dumb.

The US jumped into WWII to save the French? Since when!?! Foolish me I could have sworn the US only declared war after the tiny incident of Pearl Harbour, and then only on Japan. Declaring war on the Nazis only after Hitler declared war on the US (smart move there Adolf DOH!!!) The country (and this from an Irishman) that gets the most kudos from the war is Britain. They stood alone against the night and fought back (although I do acknowledge lend lease and volunteer pilots from the US). The US public would never have supported a war in Europe without stupid Hitler declaring war first.

What kind of friend supports/follows a friend blindly when they are doing something stupid?

Who was selling Saddam chemical weapons in the 80's? The anti-WMD US of A!

The quote sounds Churchillish?!! ohhhhhh tut tut! Mista Lincoln said those words. I kinda like em.

Churchill, he was to my eyes not a very nice man. But probably the greatest Brit ever. Cometh the hour cometh the man. (or is it the other way around?!?)

"As far as American preoccupation with size, well I think it could be summed up in the following way: we have the space, we have the money, we have the room, and we can!"
Is that to say that just because you can do something, means you should???
Which also hits on the use of petrol etc.
Fossil fuels are a poison. Both of the enviroment and the people of the world. Putting brother against brother, sister against sister.
Global warming is Fact, and will bite all of us, bigtime!

If Chirac (who personnally I think is a bit of a git) says something about the US, you shouldnt blame an entire country. It would be like us painting the entire US people with a Bush Brush.

That reminds me, we never heard what did happen with the whole Halliburton thing? But then the Iraq war was about freedom not Oil. Stupid Annatar.

Dont get me wrong, I dont support any side. I think they all have their own greedy small minded reasons to do what they do.
A pity the poor citizens of all sides get it in the neck.
Id love to see the politicians fighting it out on their own. They wouldnt be so eager.

What is the story with Guantanamo?
Just wondering.... its just the things ones hear are a little, off.

A pretty good/funny/strange book to try out is "The men who stare at goats" Check it out.

Guys n Gals dont be swearing at me too much. I just dont dig the whole anti-entire counties thing. Personally I'm not overjoyed with Bush, but that doesnt mean I'm not overjoyed with the entire US people. What is the difference between someone burning a US flag and someone wearing an anti french t-shirt? None. The hate is the same. Not very Christian (okay I'm assuming we are all Christians here. Sorry for any insult to members of other Faiths)

See you all later :) Ash Nazg...
Shalom!
