Essay Postings

Today is 5-27-02, but this will probably not be posted for a few days. I know I just submitted an essay, but I forgot to mention something, so I need to submit another one.

It looks like some of us prefer short essays and more postings while some prefer long essays with less postings so more people would have the opportunity to be read. I would like to offer some suggestions on this. Long essays could be confusing while short essays take up too many posting space so I was wondering if we could do a combination of both. I’ll explain what I mean.

We could have several short essays in one big essay. For example, I try to use a paragraph for each issue. Another idea I have is using subtopics, as some of you sort of have. For example, we could have our usual requested Title, then in the body, we could have subheadings (or names of people we are replying to), each followed by a short essay or explanation.

I’ve also noticed that some of the essays I submitted on two different days get posted on the same day. I was wondering if it happened to some of you as well. This, we can’t really control, and I was thinking that some of you might have a solution to it.

Finally, good news! I would like to add that I’ve enjoyed my time on this site. It was great reading all your essays. We’ve wandered from one topic to another, and you have all helped me see Tolkien’s works in different ways. Thanks! However, I have been thinking about this for awhile lately. I have not have much time to read carefully all your essays and provide you with the correct answers to your questions, so I’ve decided that I will leave after submitting this essay. This means that I will not be reading your essays, starting tomorrow (May 28), so don't worry about offense anymore. I really enjoyed our discussions, and will miss you, but fortunately, this will be better for you. Goodbye!
