Ringses
Annatar
Opalys, twas a little hectic and weird at work for a while. Hence the lack o'posts. 4 weeks till holidays... Athens here we come!
Ahhh as if I would give out Rings that could/would corrupt!! Besides "corrupt" is such a negative word (sounds Elvish). The rings do not corrupt they... enhance. Evil and good are such elusive labels. To one person one thing is evil, to another it is the holy of holies. A matter of perspective and belief. If someone does something they truly believe is a good act, but others regard the act as evil, can they truly say that that person is evil? or has evil in them?
If Sauron truly believes the best way for progress and peace was to act as he did, surely he cannot be seen as totally evil?
CoughEndsJustifyTheMeansCough....
But then the victors write the histories, strip away the Propaganda, and Sauron becomes a strong leader, no different to Aragorn, except Aragorn the Elf lacky won and demonised his opponent.
Always in the histories, even the Elf histories, Sauron approached his would-be enemies with hands outstretched, offering help and gifts. Only when his help was refused, his property stolen or indeed as with Numenor, perverted into weapons did he resort to force to right the wrong.
Anyways Mho Chara, better head off (as Henry the VIII would say) :) Ash Nazg...
