Faerlas, I went over a past post of your own:
"For a Middle-earth perspective, Sauron was a treacherous, murderous, blood thirsty, power hungry tyrant. Aragorn, he was trustworthy and desired peace and life above power."
Alternatively Sauron could be seen as a clever and cunning strategist, who like any military leader in history commands armies that as part of their job, kills people.
When a persons enemy outwits them, the enemy is named treacherous, yet an ally can be named a brilliant tactician.
One persons freedom fighter is anothers terrorist.
Aragorn was no saint, he was power hungry as well. He wanted to wear the crown of a reunited kingdom (ignore the Movie interpretation). Only by defeating Sauron and becoming King of not only Gondor and Itilien but Arnor as well, could he marry his little elf wench.
The northern kingdom had fallen ages ago. It was dust! What right did Aragorn have to annex such territory. What of the rights of the peoples there? Aragorn may have said he valued freedom etc but that just goes to show his brilliance at misleading the people. They welcomed the return of an undemocratic, unaccountable monarch. He who would champion the right of kings to rule by divine order.
The Wildmen were evicted from their homes by the strawheads. Men, Women and children slaughtered and driven into the hills. The Enemy of mine enemies....
What of the evil of Rohan?! All ignore the blood bath mentioned above, but what of the druedain? The Oh so brave men of Rohan hunted the woses for sport! Tell me how is this any different to Orc behaviour?
Oh about Elves... I mentioned they were dirty... you said they were so clean they glowed...
Need it be said? yes elves were trying to get WMD... and were irradiated by the uranium they were handling.
Tut Tut.
Anyways better headoff :) Ash Nazg...
ps..any word on the Hobbit? or dare we hope Sillmarilion shory lines?
