Welcome back to the prodigal Pip. Its been a while...

Faerlas, Eomer wiseman of Rohan refered to Galadriel as a witch. Indeed a neighbour will know a person better than you or I.
Things we know:
1) Galadriel was power hungry - wanted a land of her own, to order as she liked
2) Galadriel was a traitor - she disobeyed the Valar
3) Galadriel practiced magic - witch
4) Hobbits make their first appearance in the Gladden fields, not a stones throw from Lorien! Coincidence? I think not.
5) Elves have destroyed Balrogs in the past, yet when their friends in Khazad-dum were being butchered, did they lift one finger to help defeat it? No.

JJ, Rat is mordor'ese for Hobbit thats all. Hence why the Mouth of Sauron called them spys from the rat land of the Shire.
