*Sigh* Stingy, racist Americans strike again
Farlas
Yup, we stingy, racist, greedy, fat Americans are just sitting around watching the poor and the ethnic die.
...Could of fooled me, it looks like we're helping...
Sirindu, um... Yeah, do you REALLY think this all the government's falt?
I have news for you, THEY COULD NOT GET IN THERE! Just now they are starting to get in, a few days ago, it was impossible. The government is slow, that's what you get with a large beauracracy. We are helping! WE ARE HELPING! The blame cannot be soley placed on the U.S. Government. Sorry to burst your bubble. The mayor of New Orleans told those people they could go to the Superdome, KNOWING that this could happen. HE knew. He knew the levy could break, but he do anything to fortify the levy? No. He could have done something about that for the last ten years or better. And in case you do not know, the mayor of New Orleans is black. Yes, the government did drop the ball, I will give you that.
The people however, are fast. We the people were down there first, and we were down there fast.
If we were not helping, the Red Cross would not be frantically gathering donations of food and clothes to send to those people. The customs agency would not be donating all confiscated clothes to the victims.
Private citizens are driving down there and taking victims to their homes. Pastors, church members, private citizens, soldiers, they are all going down there to help out. Hotel chains across the country are giving away rooms to these people for a month so they can get back on their feet. What do you think? That the whole populous of America is sitting on their hands saying "Oh, poor Lousiannins. Oh darn, what a shame!"???? NO! We're helping! We are reaching out and helping these people. If you really think the beauracracy of government is the only way to help people, then help will never get there in time. Private citizens are fastest.
I'll tell you what, it only took a day for the Federal government to get their butts down there. That's how long it always takes. A good state government gets in, and gets it done faster.
The reason bodies are being shoved aside, is because there is nothing else we can do at the moment. We must first concern ourselves with the living, if there are not enough people to concern themselves with both. It is TERRIBLE to think that loved ones are floating in the wreckage, but when a disaster like this comes, you cannot expect things to be an easy fix.
And as far as Africa: When we went there, they dragged our soldiers through the streets naked and danced on their bodies. Unless we are going over there to win, we have no cause to go there. They don't want our aid. The people might, but their government does not. If there government does not want us, then what are we to do????
I've got news, this country is color blind, most of us love and respect life, regardless of the shell. Believe it or not, not everyone is this country cares about race. Most Americans reach out to people regardless of color.
We the people are raising money, we are helping out. We are trying to get those people out of there and restore things to normal as fast as possible.
Tip: Do not watch CNN for your news, DO NOT read the New York Times. They are negative nellies! Watch FOX news, read Drudge Report at drudgereport.com
*Sigh* Has everything gone perfectly? No. Is it is as terrible as everyone says? No.
I'll end now.
Farlas Ava
DON'T TREAD ON ME.
