Good 'n' Bad Everywhere

Sirindu, thats mental! We heard things were bad but not THAT kind of bad.

Faerlas, I wouldn't take such comments to be anti-American etc. The behavour of those animals who were raping and killing is just indicative of what all humans can be. Regardless of race, colour,political belief or country.

As far as I'm aware, the overwhelming majority of poor people in New Orleans are black. This can only be a result of racisim by certain quarters. One bad apple can spoil the whole thing. It doesnt mean everyone is racist, just that a little bit o bad goes a long long way.
This same little bit of bad would still be in effect when it came to all rescue efforts etc.


In regards to Aid to the 3rd world, the US is pretty generous...

Faerlas the dancing on US soldiers was an evil. Those that went to help the poor should be praised to the highest.
Yet...
No one mentions how many civilians were killed in the fighting. In war people die, the good, the bad and the innocent, thats the way it goes. Older that Zeus' beard. But it is really amazing that people are shocked when Civilians are less then friendly to "friendly" troops, who in the course of helping them, killed alot of them.

The battle resulted in the death of 18 American soldiers and another 73 wounded. Another American soldier was killed in a mortar attack a day later. One Malaysian soldier died and seven were wounded; two Pakistanis were also wounded. Somali deaths were not well recorded, but estimates put the number at 500-1000 Somali militia and civilians killed and 3000-4000 injured.

With that many civilians, dead or injured. Friends and neighbours. Husband and wives. Daughers and sons... Its easy to see why there were no warm feelings in the air.

There is no country in the world with any moral authority. You name one and Ill show you a hypocrite of a country.

Oh well. At least we still have Whishkey.
