Ah so am I to gather you are not someone who believes there may be life, intelligent or otherwise, "out there"? I figure there probably is. Its a big ol' Universe, odds would speak in favour of life springing up on another planet somewhere.
Course the Universe being the size it is, there could be millions of planets teeming with life but we'll never see it.
Earth is just the "homeplace" (as we say here) but its the people that make it a home. We could move to a different "house". Someplace, somewhere. Earth could be demolished but we'll roll on.
I seriously doubt people are being visited by little green men (are little green women at home doing the cooking, hoovering etc when the fellas are out driving around in their spaceships, attacking cows??? Cos they never seem to visit Earth)

Farlas you ever get the feeling God is laughing bigtime about what ideas we humans come up with?

Like all human things the UN are a mix of teh good and bad. They do great work in Education, Health etc etc...
The whole of the security council etc needs a good shake up. I figure, me as the head of the new UN, with a title of ...oohhh well... if you force me... Emperor.
All Nations to donate a set percentage of their GDP and to supply man/woman power to the "New UN peaceforce", after taking Oaths of Alliegence to me, as Emperor.
Ill slap down any country that doesnt play nice and we can all sleep happy.
