The Mines of Moria?

I am still a little lost on something. Did Gimli know about what happened in Moria (I mean the Balrog and all the dwarves dying)? I mean, he acted as though he though everyone would be waiting for them. Didn't Gandalf tell him he wouldn't go there unless absolutly nessecary? I would have thought that maybe he or Aragorn would have told him if he didn't know. Maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing, so could someone please clear me up on this one?

And, I know it is none of my business and I am sorry, but I really think that Diana should relax! If people didn't express their thoughts the way they wanted to then this forum would be boring. People shouldn't have to worry about offending those who make a mountain out of a mole hole when trying to talk about how they feel about something. I (and I'm sure a lot of other people) enjoy hearing about what other people feel and I don't think ANYONE is offended by CAPS or exclaimations points!!!!
