The Second Catholic
Farlas

Hello! Happy St. Patricks Day to you too Annatar! And to all here.

This is the second day of the year I am Catholic for a day. Shhh! Don't tell my pastor. LOL! I'm quite a terrible Baptist... no good Baptist switches religions to eat paczki's and wear green. Maybe I should just declare I am no longer a Baptist but a Christian of no denomination. HEHEHE! That would get me into worlds of trouble!

Well, an athiest might be doing a good deed to *look* charitable or what have you. But, I don't usually do things thinking "God's gonna be happy I did this!" That's not how I'm wired. When I do stuff for people, I just do it with out second thought or expetancy of thanks. I just see a need and try to fufill it. The end. Admittedly, sometimes I do stuff hoping for a thanks, but not usually. And, God knows why they did it, so to my thinking, He will reward according to heart and I shan't worry my head about it.

Glad you brought up that bit of scripture... I haven't thought about it in quite some time.

Hmm.. that's an interesting thought... is someone following Christ by doing something out of love... indeed, they are following His principles and precepts, and they may be doing to for the sole benefit of whomever is receiving the deed... I suppose then the difference lies in whether it is for the glory of God or not. I think if it is not done for the glory of God then it really is just done and that is it.

Hmm... I was unclear with my native example. Let me try explaining it better. God shall reveal Himself to anyone that truly seeks after Him. Therefore, if in Native Bob's musings (I simply had to give him a name for clarity's sake) Bob figures out there is one God, devotes all of his life to the serving and worship of Him and figures out that faith in God is the only way to heaven, then I think God will grant him entrance. I do not believe for one second God damns people to Hell because of geography. If Native Bob REALLY wants to know God, He will make sure Native Bob does.

I think this is one of those subjects where we humans like to put God in a box and think that God is merciless and inconsiderate or we think that He can't do something because to our minds it seems there is no possible way for it to be done. We are foolish this way. To say God can't do something is faithless.

"its Love that saves, without it, faith will avail you nothing."

The first part of that made me smile, for it was God's love that sent Jesus to die... and with out it, faith isn't worth much, but... your love for fellow human beans won't amount to a hill of beans before the pearly gates if you don't have faith in the God that created them. Yes, you must have love to amount to much at all, but it's not the be all and end all.

I think there's more water on the earth than the scientists would like you to think. And when it comes to the flood I take the Bible quite literally. There is too much physical evidence on the earth itself to allow me to think it was but a local flood.

I believe there were dragons... There are too many descriptions of the same looking creature in too many places that never met to make me think there was not. I also believe in the Loch Ness monster and Champ... and now I am on a rabbit trail...

I have never been to Ireland *pouts* but judging from the pictures I have seen, your mountains are very similar to the hills of Tennessee and Kentucky. And the larger ones like the appalachian mountains. I do not count the hills as mountains, but some of those hills over there do look almost the same size as the appalachian mountains. Which are awesomely beautiful btw.

I have considered what you said... but I don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says more humans evolved, nor where God created more. Thanks to you I am now quite undecided and reject the evolution suggestion wholly, whilst hesitantly rejecting the "God created more" theory. I am still rather partial to the one I said, but I really can't see evidence for any of it. I am therefore undecided. Ugh how I hate that!

No, it does not mean you are more merciful than God, it means God knows more than you and He can see what you can't. I don't always like nor understand what or why God does stuff, but I know that I don't know much so I take it by faith with assurance He'll clear it all up for me in the end. If I could know what God knows, I think I'd do what He does.

Mythbusters answered your ark question. It wasn't much of a battery. And I frankly don't know if it has or ever shall be found. It would be nifty it was, but I'm not counting on it being found.

Hehe... probably next to the body of Moses...

I'll be trying to understand it all and failing miserably until well after I'm dead and in Heaven I am sure. I tend to be a little dense sometimes...

Hooray for me!!! SPRING BREAK STARTS TODAY!!! One week off... one solid week... Too bad it's freezing cold here. Literally. Brrr... Not so springy spring break. Bummer.
