One new meaning after another!
Farlas
You know, I'm starting to look at songs in a whole new way. I finally figured out the song "I've Got a Mansion Just Over the Hilltop" and now I'm beginning to wonder about "the B-I-B-L-E".
Okay Everett *reads Genesis 1 and 2* Chapter one, is like a run through of all God made in the seven days (evening and morning), and chapter two is a little bit of a back track going into more detail as to what God made, did, etc. Though, it does look like the garden of Eden was made after the seven days... at a glance at any rate. Now, if you believe in the day-age theory or something... then you think each day is like a billion years or some such length. I think if God can make the world, then surely He can do it in seven literal days. It seems to match up quite nicely to me. I don't see why it couldn't have been 7 literal days.
If I didn't answer your question, it is because I am terrible with general questions. I like medium to well pointed ones on larger topics like that.
Opalys, the Bible was written down by men but was inspired by God and I am pretty certain the original writers did not alter one word that God told them to write. Now, things may have gotten lost over the years, but I don't believe much, if anything has. Everything seems to match up and is consistent so if something is missing, it's missing all together and there is no trace of it anywhere that I have seen.
Annater:
"Christain" *cough* countries march to war, and this does seem like a violation of Thou shalt not kill, but! there are if and only if's set forth by God. God condones war (there is a law about it that I can't find right now... grr.) and besides that He leads Israel to war numerous times. Also, God said if a man kills a man he should die. But, this is the governments business, not man's, to decide whether a man dies or lives for murder. God demands vengeance on the death of innocent people, and even things taken or slaughtered (Exodus 22:1).
*sigh* there is scripture backing all of this up, but I am too tired to do extensive research at the moment. I shall try to get the verses backing up what I say sooner or later.
I don't think we mistranslated a nations right to war or the governments right to kill murderers (I feel very sorry for the 1 out of 3 that is innocent btw.)
The last supper is symbolic. most assuredly. If it wasn't, I don't think Jesus would have said , "This do in *rememberance* of me". I think He would have said, "This is me" or "This embodies me" or something like that. That was definitly a more symbolic act on His part.
Actually, you are a little slow getting into power. My mother has already been proclaimed ROTU, Ruler Of The Universe. So you'll have to overthrow her first, then you can take over. Unless, of course, you are still overtaking Middle-earth. In which case, have fun! *sharpens sword*
Sorry if I disappointed any of you with a half-hearted rebuttle... *yawn* I'm tired. Whoever runs this sight puts up the posts too late for my timezone... so it seems always to be late when I get to read, then of course I must reply immediately. :o)
It's a good thing I like argueing so much, or I'd have to quit this forum and be *shudders* politically correct! *screams*
Farewell all!
