Hey Lilly!
Farlas
Yeah, I can imagine how swamped you are.
Actually, it's only been a biblical forum as of late. We've waffled between politics, LotR, and religion since you last were here. Sort of cyclical.

Very close Annatar! Paczki's are pretty much an calorie saturated, ultra fatty, extra yummy jelly doughnut. They are Polish, at least, Detroit polish, and we have them on the Tuesday before Lent. Around here, on Fat Tuesday, we go to the bakeries of Hamtramick (where the best ones are found) and buy them by the dozen. Thank goodness we only get them once a year, because they are addicting and fattening.
I'm sure the lack of liquor has something to do with it. That is probably also the factor that makes Mardi Gras in New Orleans so terrific... everyone's so smashed, they wouldn't remember if it was good or not.
I'm still trying to figure out how they cram those huge floats down Bourban street. Been down there (weird story), wasn't that wide.

Oh you poor dear Opalys! That's rough stuff. Don't beat yourself up over it though, you couldn't have known. That's how I felt when my friend died. I felt bad I hadn't done more with her.
I'm the same way with my pets, I get very attached. I'm not sure when I cried harder, when my friend died or my dog died.

Hmm... what could we talk about now... Well, I have a couple rants about things, but I won't make you all endure them.
Just watched the Narnia movie... I wept for character slaughtering. Poor Mr. Beaver was slaughtered about as bad, if not worse, than Faramir was in the Two Towers. It was sad. Mr. Tumness was terrific though! No complaints there!
Oh, Annatar, question: Recently took a test at a Catholic school, and in the main lobby there were two statues, one to St. Patrick (I know who he is) and one to St. Basil. Who is St. Basil?
I should have taken inventory of the statues, I'm sure there were gobs of them I've never heard of. At St. Patricks Cathedral in New York City, they all were pretty famous saints it seemed. Mary, Thomas, Peter, Paul, a pope or two I think.. (a little fuzzy on all the particulars. I was too busy gawking at the absolute hugeness of the place to take too much note.)
That is something I would like to do; tour the Cathedrals of Europe. I've seen a few pictures of some absolutely magnificent ones.
Anyway, I have rambled, and now I am leaving.
