Eyes half shut
Farlas

Well, I am in a terrible mood for rebuttles, but I shall give it a go anyway. Waaay too much sugar, not nearly enough sleep!

Right now I want nothing more than to sit back, relax, and say, "Whatever!" With a dopey smile. Pride will not let me. Bad pride! Bad!

Anyway!

I think Manna was symbolic of Jesus being the Bread of Life, just as when He said, "This is my body..." was symbolic of that fact. I think Jesus is there during Communion, or Eucherist, or whatever you wish to call it, in spirit. Just as He is everywhere at all times. But I wonder if perhaps when we are more serious He is closer to us. Maybe we're closer to Him then.

Jesus stopped them from stony Mary Magdelene as a symbol of the fact that they were about to enter teh Age of Grace, in which such sins could be covered by His act upon the cross.

With out having a good concordinance handy... I would say that the government being able to exectue people goes back to Leviticus law, and that God controls the hearts of kings. I think part of it may be that if He established that it should be the government, then He could have murderer's exectued with out the world turning to anarchy. Sort of a designation to keep things more orderly and simple. But this is all extemporaneous guessings on my part. Take those for what you will. As I said, nothing is at hand for me to use to give you the Biblical answer. Sadly.

Well, yes, I suppose it would be better if we all held hands and sang songs round the campfire instead of going to war, but humans run the world. In a utopian world, that would be how things should be handled. In a church, this is how things should be handled (rather like a communist country sans the dictator), but alas it is not so. Wars are fought, will be fought, until Jesus comes again riding a white horse.

Oh, and you are to forgive seventy times seven.

What LotR topic *could* we resurrect? Where Tinuviel got her "magic" powers and why the elves did not use them during the third age. Well, it's just a suggestion! :o)))

Everett, thanks for the link. I'll peruse it all later. It's late right now and I simply must go to sleep! He did a lot though! Judging by the length of the page. Sorry I cut you. I didn't realize you were Catholic. I'm a little thick sometimes.

And I know Hamtramck is spelled that way. My fingers don't know that though. They are unruly things!

Oh, and a heads up if for some reason posting becomes frequent over the next to weeks... I will be down in North Carolina next week enjoying uncertain weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains! YAY!

Annatar, my sister is sad, nay, grieved, for your sake that you have not had a paczki. She thinks you are REALLY missing out on something. She keeps saying, "Poor Annatar!" she also said as long as you've had a crepe you are not totally deprived. She is also pestering me to ask you if you have Peeps (as in the sugar covered marshmellow's) over there.

She has a sweet tooth the size of Western Europe. Such things hold great importance in her mind.

Where as I, on the other hand, think it is a crime and a tragedy that not everyone in the world has had Vernors and pasties. Surely! If no other thing could bring world peace, it would be Vernors and pasties.

Okay, I'm going to bed NOW. I'm getting scary.
