One for the Road
Farlas
Tomorrow morning during the... third watch of the night, or the evil hour of 4:30 I head off for the south! YAY! the Wilds here I come!
I did read your post Opalys, I just forgot to make mention of it. You are quite welcome! And my prayers continue to go with you.
Anyway, I see I cannot leave with out giving my rebuttle, so here it is.
Where does the Bible mention multiple continents? And I think some of that may have been considered unnecessary details that we needed to just take by faith. But I'm not going to hairy with this, it is, after all, a theory. If I had taken better notes, I could give you my full reasons for why I think this, but I didn't, and they were thrown out with the rest of my old Bible class homework. I did like that class that year... the Life of Christ as seen through the book of John.
Moving on!
Well sure, things have evolved since then. I mean, just watch the lifespans of people over the ages. And have you ever seen pictures of the humans they dug up? They are not the small little monkey-like things the Darwinists would have you believe, they are MASSIVELY HUGE! And the footprints are just enormous! I saw a picture of a guy next to the bones of a leg he had dug up on his property, and he was almost as tall as the leg. The living guy was about six foot. HUGENESS! And look at dogs and horses, we went from two breeds to too many. Sure, things evolved, just with in the species. Hehe!
Second, Third, some number greater than one and under five. I think I'm doing good just knowing his name. And the current one... Benedict the (some number) We share a birthday you know. I think that's the only thing we have in common.
I'm not disagreeing with you there. In heaven I am almost certain they can see us. AT least, they can see some things. Or one thing at a time. In Revelation it speaks of how the martyrs shall be crying out for the blood of their brothers and sisters in Christ that are dying. And the hearing thing, I don't see why not.
*shudders* What a thought! All the dead in Christ can see you and hear you at will. If you are doing right, then yay! But if you are sinning... it's like having your life played continually for the masses. If it wasn't bad enough God can always see you, so can everyone else. Talk about living in a fish bowl.
Well, all the saved are in the same fold at any rate. You know I disagree with everyone is going to Heaven notion. And you say that to get a reaction don't you?
Hehe! I don't mind.
I always wondered if Catholics had Sunday School. As well as morning and evening service. We have three. Sunday School and morning service, then you go home and come back for evening service. Then you go on Wednesday nights. My church has a school as well, so it's like your kid gets to live at church while having a Bible class at least three days out of a week, along with chapel and music. Then of course, any class at any time may turn into a Biblical discussion hour.
That's why I know what I know. I don't really sit around and read commentaries and do big studies. I just read and go to school/church.
I have no idea what a catholic school is like either. I would imagine they have Bible classes, but I'm not so sure about chapels. And I would imagine it would be uniform too. *shrugs* I dont' know much.
Gospel of Judas: I think it's bologna beginning to end. Why do I think this? Well... Where to begin... It was written 150 years AFTER Jesus died; it was written by men that believed in a funky cross between Christianity, eastern mysticism, and polythiesm; and no others gospels match it in any way. Logically, it doesn't make sense. Let's go along with the theory that Jesus did ask him to go betray him. Why would he then feel so terribly guilty that he threw the money back to the pharisees, then hang himself out of guilt? Obviously he wasn't lynched, the apostles were following Jesus or scattered in fear and wouldn't have known. If he had done it out of fear, it was in a moment of panic, for he could have easily just ran away.
No, I think it is complete hogwash, beginning to end. And this is not even looking at the fact that the apostles and Jesus had prophesied such things would be taught. This falls in with prophecy, but remains utter rubbish.
It should also be mentioned, that such documents have been circulating for centuries, each time being disproved. The Gospel of Thomas unearthed a couple decades ago was proved as bunk. Tis nothing more than a second century hoax recycled.
I think it is pretty safe to say the Bible is true. It hasn't been wrong yet!
*looks at clock* Woah! I better get to bed! I gotta get up at *shudders* that wicked time tomorrow. SEe you all when I get back!
