Yeah Its okay if you dont agree with it, just as long as you know what you're disagreeing with Catholics about (once upon a time I was bordering anti such practice, till the penny dropped, and I saw conversations with Saints as being the same as talking to anyone, you, Opalys, Everett.... And thought, there's nothing wrong with that!).
It has ALWAYS been that way. The Church has NEVER preached worship of any other being, other than God. That is not to say some people havent made errors because of failures of teaching - or lack thereof. Some have taken respect and honour a few steps too far.
File under Annatar Church Gripes: failure to provide good extensive teaching. Pope John Paul II, while giving great honour to Our Lady, made stern warnings as to the dangers of Marianism. Such warnings should be made a little more strongly at times.

He could, but then He might have His own reasons to do so.
Besides, Creating a being via Evolution is more impressive than BLAM! One human species made.
But perhaps the greatest reason why Evolution was used as God's tool when creating Humans etc was that is does not provide proof of God. Creationism, by its very nature seeks to prove there is a God. God does not want us to KNOW there's a God, He wants us to BELIEVE there is a God. If we know there is a God, there is a huge danger of following his commandments out of fear (not love), and to quote Yoda, fear breeds hatred. Fear is the path to the darkside!

Yeah the soul was made in his image, not the body. Too many variations in how human bodies look to say we are all in the image of anything. Image implies identical or at least near identical.

What some would take to be Evolution, the random mutations in creatures, where survival of the fittest dictates the next generation, without any Deity being involved. I say Evolution is God's Domino set, He KNEW, what changes were going to be made and how they were going to progress. Chance didnt play a part in it, although to our oh so limited intelligence, wisdom and breath of vision, it would appear so.
The story of Adam and Eve is the creation of the human Soul in God's image and the placing of it in the animal that had Evolved into the creature which is called human.

Justice that varies from person to person is not justice. If God declared the above on the murderer Cain, he declared it on ALL murderers etc
