Just a thought...
Annatar

Representation in government - It wasnt as if the ordinary people in London etc had a great voice in Westminster either.
Perhaps more than taxation, expansion west or representation in westminster, was the development of the colonies indentity. They ceased seeing themselves as part of the Empire (afterall they, in their majority did come/decend from the British Isles) and starting seeing themselve as Americans. Which I spose could have been resultant from not being included in governmental thangs.

Just wondering about the American Civil War, ignoring the evil of slavery etc, what right did Lincoln have in stopping the southern states from ceding the Union? It was the Democratic wish of its people.
Surely a Union should be a brother/sisterhood of the willing sotaspeak?
Im just wondering if there is something I am missing?

Slan, Ash Nazg...
