Novus Ordo Seclorum
Annatar
Farlas, taxation that helps the poor is hardly Communism. It shows a good social awareness. A healthy balance between the needs/rights of the individual and the needs/rights of society must be struck. Rampant capitalism is just as evil as rampant communism. Middle ground is best (personally - right of centre, although a smidgin of left in there too. Nothings simple! hehe).
People who would say "Ive already paid my poor tax Im not gonna pay more" were never going to donate money anyway.
As the plane tax only being the start, funny thing is, politicians have got a broad streak of self-preservation. They wont willingly do anything thatll get them booted into political oblivion.
Funny thing, we all praise democracy, "The Voice Of The People"... yet when that Voice costs us a cent that clearly does not make Us richer, we are inclined to rally against it.
Just a thought... Farlas, would certain views on the run up to Armageddon that I, We, hear about, contribute to your negative view of anything that could be construed as a single world entity... such a World Citizen...?
Just wondering.
"One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter"
"By their actions shall ye judge them" - I'm just putting this out there...
9/11 - 3000+ civilians die.
Iraq - 100,000+ civilians die (conservative estimates, but lets go mad and reduce it to a tenth) - 10,000 dead civilians.
Based on the figures, which organisation caused the greater damage, evil?
I have no doubt coalition soldiers are (in the overwhelming majority) doing a very hard (thankless) job. These hardworking men and women get too little praise. But the hand that moves them, moved them very... roughly.
9/11 inspired the US to war in Iraq.
What will Iraq inspire the bereaved to do in the following years? What happens when a country recieves "multiple" 9/11's?
As "bomber Harris" said "they sowed the wind, now the reap the whirlwind"
But if we continue this spiral, the resultant hurricane will kill us all.
Course it could be the US is damned if it does, damned if it doesnt. Hardly an enviable position.
Its just too many lies have been spoken to legitimise this war. Even if there was danger, certain people may have cried wolf too much at the wrong times to be given any credence.
And so, back to the whole "world citizen" bit. To me it says, first and foremost the welfare of my brothers and sisters around the world is of paramount importance. This takes presidence over all other concerns (except God), such as State and indeed Church (I do not view faith and church as being one in the same).
Jesus preached this message. If this be Communism, then Jesus is a Red, and I'm trying to join the Party.
:)
Oh well, I trust I insulted no one. Wasnt intended if so.
Ciao Mon Amie :) Ash Nazg...
