'...for the love of money, money...'
Annatar

Julie, yeah saw "Dead Mans Chest"... it was okay. Suffered a little from length and being an "inbetweener". Orlando Bloom cant act as usual. Keira Knightley was only slightly better. "The Depp" had to carry them all. Still thats not to say it wasnt a good film... just not great. Davy Jones n crew looked cool.

The Hobbit by Christmas... hmm will be a good few Christmas's before it comes. As far as I know they havent got a cast never mind started filming. Still... twould be great if it was this Christmas!

The Title... just started singing a U2 song "Desire"... heehehe

Re Everett : The Problems of Rhetorical Excess
Try and advise a starving child in Africa on where to find work. What about the poor unfortunate children who have work but its in sweat shops? Do we tell them "no we wont give money to get you food/education but we put in a good word for you with a local shop back home. All you gotta do is get there, only a few thousand miles. It wasnt as if you were busy" Or do we give the money to our politicians so they can fly over there First class to politely tell their government that they have poor starving people (something they dont know already) and that they really should do something about it as voters back home are really really concerned.

There is wisdom in using money correctly. But its is stupid to build schools in a famine ridden area instead of feeding the people. Education may help bid time in the long term but if the starving are not fed there wont be anyone to go to the shiny new school.
All I can tell you is this, beware of just making excuses to save giving money. Hell, im probably one of the best at making excuses so I aint pointing fingers.
Its just this, all things come secondary to love. Failure to do all in helping our neighbours around the globe is a failure to show love. Worse, it raises money (mammon) above Love in importance.
Jesus related the story of the poor near penniless woman giving the last penny she had and the rich man giving... erm...alot :)
The Woman did more because it affected her more and so showed more Love.

Im not getting into the hows, the wheres, or the why fors, all I'm saying is, following Christ's teaching, we should Love everyone, everywhere like he Loves us. No holding back. No holding back of time, resources or... money.
Are we not told to use money, not to allow it use us.... to use it to win favour in heaven?

Everett, appologies if in the last few posts Ive been a little narky. I shouldnt have been and I appologise.
Sorry.
Wrong side of the bed n all that.

Slan agus beannacht De leat! :) Ash Nazg...
